I work with children, young people and adults on a one-to-one basis with specific therapies or a combination, depending of the needs of the client.

The first step will always be a conversation to talk about your needs and agree on what will be the best for you.

In addition to individual therapies I offer well-being classes and workshops which are a great way to build our understanding of how to look after ourselves and our well-being, and can be fun, inspiring and life-changing!

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a holistic, safe and effective therapy which can help you take control of many issues, from fears, anxieties, phobias, stress, panic attacks, weight loss, improving self-esteem and confidence to stopping habits such as smoking.

Hypnotherapy can enable you to take control of current or past emotions, trauma and events that are holding you back. It can be used to change learned perceptions and can help you towards developing a new way of thinking, feeling and behaving.

How does it work?

Hypnosis is a very natural state of consciousness which we all experience at least twice a day, such as when we are just falling to sleep or just waking up and often in everyday activities when we ‘drift off’.

Through hypnosis we reach a very relaxed state where our conscious mind is at rest and the sub-conscious mind is very alert. The sub-conscious mind is where we store all our learned behaviours and it influences our actions, thoughts, habits and emotions. During hypnosis the sub-conscious is highly receptive to positive suggestions and changes to those behaviours and a skilled therapist can safely and effectively help you to do this.

All hypnosis is ‘self-hypnosis’, so you allow yourself to reach a hypnotic state. You are in control the whole time, just very, very relaxed. You can open your eyes at any time you wish. You will not, as is often wrongly assumed, be asleep, be in a trance, or not in control of your own thoughts. YOU ARE ALWAYS IN CONTROL.

Is hypnotherapy for children safe?

Hypnotherapy for children and young people is considered highly effective and is completely safe. Children tend to respond very well to hypnosis as they are naturally quite imaginative and use their subconscious minds a great deal more than adults do. Hypnotherapy can help to address a number of issues commonly experienced in childhood, including exam nerves, sleep problems, bed-wetting, fears, eating disorders and low self-esteem. As a qualified teacher I am very familiar with working with children and build trust quickly and effectively.

REIKI

What is Reiki?

Reiki was developed in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. It is a very gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses natural energy flow to balance the body. It works on physical, mental and emotional levels and is a simple and effective way of promoting healing, relaxation, health and well-being.

What is the treatment like?

Reiki can be used to treat the whole body or a specific part of the body. You will remain fully clothed and either lie on a massage table, usually snuggled in a blanket, or sit in a chair while the therapist places her hands on or near various parts of your body. You may feel warmth, tingling and deep relaxation.

After the treatment you may feel deeply relaxed as Reiki is used to stimulate natural rebalancing and a sense of well-being. You will be asked to drink water following the session.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

Deep relaxation, relieving symptoms of stress and tension

QUANTUM BREATH

What is Quantum Breath?

Quantum Breath is similar to Reiki as it uses the natural energy flow as a method of healing. Quantum Breath works on an emotional, mental and physical level and therefore can help with a variety of conditions and ailments. It can rapidly bring down inflammation, speed up healing, reduce pain, balance emotions and much more.

It is therefore suitable for most everyone, children enjoy Quantum Breath sessions as do adults of all ages, including the elderly.

How does it work?

Quantum Breath techniques involve connecting with and amplifying the natural energy flow. It focuses on increasing the vibration of an area or person in order for healing to occur, so the person receiving the energy can release blockages, relax and re-balance.

What is the treatment like?

You will remain fully clothed and either lie on a massage table, usually snuggled in a blanket, or sit in a chair while the therapist places her hands on the area that needs healing. You may hear the therapist doing deep breathing exercises and you will be encouraged to breathe deeply too. Sometimes the therapist will speak to you during the session, at other times you will be left to quietly relax. The treatment feels very natural and a feeling of well-being is often experienced.

You will be asked to drink water following the session.

What are the benefits of Quantum Breath?

EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE(EFT)

What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique is often known as ‘tapping’. It is a practical self-help method that involves using the fingers to gently tap on the body's acupuncture points along the meridian lines of Chinese medicine. Meridians are electro magnetic pathways of energy which communicate between the various parts of the human body. The therapeutic effects of this technique are recognised around the world.

EFT Tapping helps us tune in to the negative patterns that we form around our uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or troubling memories. We ‘tap’ on the correct pressure points while bringing the thoughts or emotions into consciousness and find relief, relaxation, and healing around the emotional or physical issues to restore a more positive mind and body balance.
